Exercising professional judgement

Level 3

Applies professional judgement and behaves in accordance with relevant laws and regulation, the fundamental professional principles and taking account of personal ethics and morality. Recognises potential threats to professional behaviour and adopts appropriate safeguards against such threats, taking an independent and objective view of situations and of information available. Takes decisions based on a duty to others, taking account of potential consequences and considering the greater overall benefit for the company, its stakeholders and wider society.

Level 2

Applies professional sensitivity to the needs of internal and external stakeholders, taking into account business and cultural or emotional factors and acting professionally and competently in accordance with the fundamental principles of professional behaviour and recognising threats to such principles where they may exist.

Level 1

Applies professional knowledge to the benefit of colleagues and others; acting competently, diligently, honestly and with due regard to legislation, minimum quality standards and in compliance with the fundamental principles of ethical behaviour.
